Sneak Peak - Make it Happen
Sneak Peak into the book - Make it Happen
WHAT IS PROJECT MANAGEMENT?
Project Management is simply an area which has evolved to co-ordinate and control complex activities of modern commerce and industry.
In this workbook we will look at:
- Objective setting and performance measures
- Project planning methodology
- Allocating resources
- Motivating staff
- Applying relevant items of legislation to actual or proposed circumstances.
Initially we will examine how we plan projects, look at the stages of project planning, project implementation and project completion.
We will look at how we identify crucial aspects of projects and study critical path techniques and flow-charts.
We will look at how we allocate resources within our own team and how we allocate resources to projects. We will also explore how we optimise the use of resources for such projects.
Finally we will examine how we motivate team members through participative management techniques and consider how we can overcome barriers and negative attitudes to participation.
When planning a project is it wise to consider the process carefully and to evaluate the resources required in order to carry out the project in question.
Resources such as:
- Time
- Money
- Facilities
- Equipment
- People
- Research and information.
