Leadership and Management Personal Development Funding The grant of £500 is for one Director or Senior Manager for companies employing between 10 and 250 people. In addition there is a further £500 grant available, which must be match funded by the organisation, which may be used for the original recipient and the management team. ACADEMY OF LEARNING is a DIUS registered private training provider accredited with The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) and The Oxford Cambridge & RSA (OCR) awarding body to deliver a complete range of Management, Health & Social Care, Customer Service and associated qualifications. ACADEMY OF LEARNING is both the lead and active participants in a number of EUROPEAN Social Fund and Learning Skills Council projects. During 2006 ACADEMY OF LEARNING entered into an exciting collaboration with International Student Advisors in the Philippines to offer 2 new innovative programmes to assist Caregivers and Nurses from the Philippines and other countries gain formal British Qualifications to further enhance their skill base and practical knowledge in the Nursing arena. ACADEMY OF LEARNING concluded a supplier agreement with Anglia Ruskin University to identify candidates for undergraduate and post graduate courses offered by their Faculty of Health & Social Care The agreement is global but is initially focused on the Philippines and Hong Kong and shortly Singapore, India and Sri Lanka. The current programmes available through International Student Advisors are: 1. Institute of Leadership and Management First Line Management in Health and Social Care 2. Anglia Ruskin University BSc (Hons) in Health & Social Care (The Filipino nursing degree contributes 240 credits towards the 360 credits required for the Anglia Ruskin degree. The study packages are a blended version requiring an induction, regular workshops, self study and a work placement which forms part of the assessment. The programme is expected to be completed within 18 – 24 months, although in certain circumstances and programmes, 12 month courses are available. On the basis of the course of study, as above, and a formal offer, a student visa application is submitted which if granted allows, under the UK Border Agency rules and regulations, for students to have a work placement in excess of 20 hrs per week. The visa application also requires certain conditions from the candidates including financial backing, sponsorship, and confirmation of full payment of the course and travel fees. The student visa will usually be for a period of 2 years. International Student Advisors will identify an approved vocational study and work placement employer on our behalf. The employer will enter into an employment contract with the student in the normal way however the contract will be linked to and be conditional upon the employer, the student and the training provider entering into a formal learning agreement which will specify the commitment of all three parties to the agreed course of study.
